About Katrina

Katrina O’Brien has a Masters in Archives and Records Management. As Archive & Collections Manager for the speed sport museum World of Speed, O’Brien has created the archives department from the ground up. She has worked with the Oregon Historical Society, processing collections for both the OHS Research Library and OHS Film Preservation Department. O’Brien also processed the archival collection of Portland’s Miracle Theatre to be part of UO’s Oregon Multicultural Archives; as well as created a record retention schedule (RRS) and basic record management best practices for active records. O’Brien also works a freelance editor, content coordinator, and permissions consultant, and is copyeditor for the Journal of Western Archives.

Before pursuing her Masters Degree, O’Brien choreographed and danced professionally in Portland and the Pacific Northwest. She taught dance at Cedar Hill Recreation Center and St. John’s Recreation Center. Prior to relocating to the West coast, she founded and ran the Paper Mill Studio in Holyoke, MA, as a teaching and performance space for the local dance community and a rehearsal space for her dance company KO&Co.

NWPAA brings together O’Brien’s knowledge and experience in the areas of archives, records management, content development, and the performing arts. Her unique understanding allows NWPAA the ability to offer the community the necessary skills and resources to support artists and arts organizations.
